DarJon: Why no posts?

I have currently decided to temporarily suspend writing on this blog. It is a very recent and sudden decision, and has been made mainly because of the amount of things I have on my plate at the moment – especially school work. Just to let all my faithful readers know that I am working on bigger and better things, both for this blog and alongside. DarJon did turn a year old last month and I am aware I did not do anything to celebrate this, however I am planning a relaunch for the close future and I am sure it will be beneficial for the upkeep and quality of this blog in the long run. Thank you to all who have supported me this far, and I hope you will continue to in the future, as this is definitely NOT the last of me!

‘Lets Rock’ Apple Event 2008

On Tuesday, Steve Jobs took the big stage again for another year, this time using the leading ‘Let’s Rock’ slogan. Unfortunately, I was not able to view any of the live blogs as-it-happened, but I do now know what took place at the event in San Francisco, California – and if you read on, I’ll share all the juicy gossip with you!

Desktop This Month: September 2008

Desktop This Month is a series of posts from DarJon which shows how my desktop looks and changes every month. This has been a popular Flickr meme for a while and I’ve now decided to catch on, but posting the screenshots on my blog as well. The posts include information about what applications and utilities I’m using at that time, as well as what system I’m on.

Summary: The Events of Friday 11th

Yesterday was quite a milestone day for me, as it was for many others. Yes, it was of course the launch date of the iPhone 3G in most countries worldwide. However, it was also quite a big day for me in another sense. A sense that could potentially depress my day considerably.

Private Browsing Thats Not So Private

It was brought to my attention recently (via MacFormat Magazine) that my almost favourite browser from Apple, Safari, doesn’t quite have the private mode that it claims to. One of mine and many other users’ favourite feature in the new version of Safari is its so-called ‘Private Browsing’ option, which is meant to be a quick and easy way to stop your browsing history, temporary files, cookies and all other private goodies from being saved. Well, maybe not all other..

The Great Big Download

Mozilla Firefox. Its one of the world’s most popular web browsers, and is hugely successful. Firefox is the open-source powerhouse that, well.. IS the Internet! It is fairly fast, clean, simple to use and has the biggest collection of addons and plug-ins I have ever seen, so that every user can be individual and customize their browser to match their needs. Well now.. its getting even better. And Mozilla is asking for our help.

The User-Always-Wins War

This is just about the only war in technology where the users always win, and where the ‘winner’ is always down to decision. It is, of course, that of PC versus Mac. So, here is a compilation of my favourite videos on the internet making this topic even funnier by the day, and really opening peoples eyes as to what the two different platforms are really intended to do. [plus important message]
